Hello, I have the Xiaomi Mi 4S, which is of course an androidTV. When it is connected to my router via wifi I can cast everything to it with my phone or PC. However when I connect my TV to the router directly via an ethernet cable, its unable to be casted to. It still has proper internet connection, just via the cable now of course. But it does not pop up in the list of devices to cast to when i want to cast with my phone or pc. Also I did check whether the tv and my phone and pc are connected to the same network, which they are. So does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?
Sounds like your router segregates wifi and ethernet broadcast traffic. You may be able to go into your routers settings and turn off "wifi isolation" or something similarly named, but note that this can have some minor security and performance implications
