picture in picture mode on chromecast w/ google tv?

is there a way to make this work? it works on my tivo stream 4k (android 9) but not my CCGTV (android 10). the PIP settings page is hidden in the menu, but you can get to it via adb...seems it's enabled for all of the apps i want it to be enabled for, but it just doesn't work.

is there a way to somehow make this work via adb commands, or is it broken in the latest CCGTV software?

According to the package manager, PIP support isn't currently available. Strange given all other Android TV platforms have this....

You can use Overlay mode on Chromecast. The app has to support it and you have to manually enable the "display over other apps" permission in settings.

Check out our SplashTiles app for an example of a working "PIP" using overlay mode.
