I know there's a lot of people out there that want to download the spectrum tv app on their android tv or android tv device (nvidia shield etc). So I just spent a couple hours today making a custom APK shortcut for the spectrum app. You will need a mouse or game controller connected to your tv or nvidia shield to navigate the guide etc with it. The app will basically be like a giant tablet version of the spectrum tv app on your tv. I decided to upload all the files needed to get the Spectrum TV app on android TV or nvidia shield. - Download send files to TV app on your android tv and your phone (google play store) link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yablio.sendfilestotv&hl=en_US&gl=US
- Download all the apk's to your phone then use the send files TV app to send them to your TV
- Download any file manager on your TV (I used tv commander i think).
- Go to your android tv settings and find the options for "find the options for "install apps from unknown sources" and enable it for your file manager app and send files to tv app."
- In your file manager navigate to your download folder. Install all the apps you sent over (make sure you install the shortcut apk last).
- (Optional) Delete all the apk's from your download folder to free up space on your TV.
- Open the set orientation app and set it to "Automatic" and save.
- Done. You can open the spectrum app now.
You can skip installing the shortcut app if you want to but I would highly recommend installing it as well since this will give you the tile banner on your android tv interface on the homepage and app drawer. In your list of apps under settings it will show 2 spectrum tv apps the smaller file size one will be the shortcut apk and the larger file size one will be the spectrum app. Hope this helps someone.

Also, there has to be a way to make a custom version of this app to make it so you can navigate like a mouse but with the arrow keys on a remote. Or bind the standard remote buttons to stuff on the app. If there's any app developers out there that know what they're doing please chime in on the possibility of that!
Edit: Just in case anyone was wondering this is the tool I used to make the custom shortcut. You can use it for any app you want by the way and you don't need to reinstall the original app. Just make the shortcut and install it. Easy! http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/index.php
Nice work, but the need for a mouse kills it for me. I'll just cast from my phone.
I agree though, we need a spectrum app!
