The upper one is HDR the second one is SDR.
When playing HDR content on Netflix, the dark overlay around the title and player controls gets all grainy and pixelated.
It doesn't happen when playing 4K SDR content or when playing HDR content on another app.
The content itself isn't affected by this issue, dark spots on the video itself don't appear pixelated or grainy at all.
This seems to only affect the Netflix overlay that appears when you start playing content or when using the Netflix player controls.
I have a TCL Roku TV 4 Series, I tried switching the Chromecast to a different HDMI/charger/cable, uninstalled and installed the Netflix app back and also tried completely resetting the device, and I'm still getting the pixelated overlay with HDR content on Netflix.
I don't get this weird issue neither with the Chromecast Ultra or the native Netflix app on Roku.
The "Match content dynamic range" toggle doesn't affect the issue.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
This not an issue, it has always been like that on my sony, playing from the native app. It always bothered me as well. Could be that the UI is low res compared to the video, not sure though.
