SONY TV CONNECTED VIA ETHERNET KILLS ALL NETWORK IF POWER OPTION CERTAIN SETTING

by enkeskin

Hi

I hope this helps someone, i have a new Sony TV 75inch x800h, i changed the power option to go turnoff after inactivity. when its triggered it killed the whole network , i couldn't ping anything even the devices has static IP and on the same switch. unintentionally they made some kind ultimate network killing weapon. it took me some time to figure this out, i have over 60 devices and 8 physical switches. so even when i switched back the setting it didn't fix it , until i rebooted the TV.

This happened to me with my 75" x900h. Was driving me insane, I thought my switch had died. As soon as I unplugged everything and started to replug devices 1 by 1, I was able to isolate it to the x900h. Interesting note, but I had wifi disabled on this TV, and while it was bugged out, I was not able to restart wifi at all.

Anyway, I was forced to shut down the TV and unplug it. Waited a minute, replugged the power, restarted the TV, and now everything back to normal.

exactly the same thing happened to me!

Sony X90J

Very disappointing, bad enough that I need to reboot the tv every now and then when I switch to hdmi and it turns up blank. Now it takes down my switch with it.

Switching to use wifi instead. Read the ethernet port on the TV isn't even gigabit.

Having the same issue X85j .. Just switched to USB ethernet adapter as I've had this issue twice in two weeks now (with two different routers). Hoping this will fix it if it's a NIC issue. At least the USB NIC goes to sleep when the TV is off. Both times I've had the problem, the TV has been off.
