I already tried the old fixes I found on the internet and the adds just seem to bypass them. I have had this TV for 2 years now and previously was able to shut off the adds but with the last update I am having no luck. I uninstalled all updates to the android home app as well as to android core services. Then I go to manage home screen and toggle "Spotlight" to off but it still is there at the top of my home screen. All this work may seem petty to some but I feel like if I payed hundreds of dollars for this TV I shouldn't be subjected to adds on the home screen every time I turn on the TV. Also after I payed for the TV fxck them for double dipping and forcing their adds on me for their profits. If they wanted to offer me free streaming that's one thing but the fact there is no option to opt out is frustrating. I don't even know how this can be legal? Help!
Im looking for the same answer. Seems to be built into the new OS now.
What used to work was going into apps and disabling or rolling back Android Core Services and Android TV Home. You can try it and it might still work.
