I just discovered that Google has an official Android TV remote app that works pretty well for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.tv.remote
Maybe if the remote can be unpaired from it's original TV. You'll just have to try it.
If remote is programmable for that TV manufacturer then it will work. Otherwise, no.
