Varying prices for renting/buying movies

by Mythostheonly

I have a google TV and when looking to a movie on my watchlist (i.e. The Fellowship of the ring extended version) it says i can buy it for 7.99. Fair price, so i look onto my computer to buy it and here it's 13.99?! Can someone explain this to me?

Are you looking at two different services? For example, maybe Google Play Movies & TV and iTunes.

I often find the price showing on the Play Store is the rental price, with the buy price a little more.

Solved: appearently amazon video has a "buy movie" feature even if you're not a prime member, it's not really clear on which platform you buy the movie when you click the button, because all payments are transfered through your google wallet
