Hi, I've recently purchased the new Chromecast and I'm having some issues. At the top menu of the Google TV interface it doesn't show "for you", "movies" or "shows". I have no clue why my Chromecast has limited functionality. I live in Belgium, could this be for regional reasons?

Use a VPN to pretend you are in the US.

You not missing much. It puts ads for paid videos on Google Play and some local services which you can't disable.

Hey, Belgian here with a CC I bought at Vandenborre.

Yes it's limited to only a few counties, like US, UK, France, etc. Every other country has a limited interface. Maybe when they sign deals with VRT/RTBF etc one day, with an official launch in Belgium, we'll get the complete interface.

Same as a Norwegian

I'm from the Netherlands but to give you a better understanding, i will typ in Dutch.

Helaas, omdat de Chromecast niet officieel gelanceerd is in België en Nederland, zul je toch een VPN moeten gebruiken (US, DE, UK, FR) om optimaal gebruik te kunnen maken van je Chromecast.

Just stated he needs a VPN to get the most out of it and why.

Have a great day.

GTV launcher is a restricted androidtv ui in non-supported countries.

You can't even edit the channels rows and some providers content (netflix, prime, etc...) will not surface either.

Hardware wise it's fine though. Better opt for a Shield at 149€£$.

Because the device is not officially introduced in Belgium, you don't have the "FOR YOU".

I have the same experience.

It's regional that's only in the US
