TV Stick without pesky voice assistant

by Responsible_Hand9387

I want to upgrade my old smart TV to be able to use all streaming services (it has prime & netflix but doesn't support disney+)

That about sums it up what I want to do. Stream and maybe use it as a better link between my smartphone, tablet and laptop.

And I specifically do not want a voice assistant, since they apparently listen even when they're not activated.

Ideally I want to spend less than 100.

Can you recommend any tv sticks with these requirements?

I wound never have anything that could spy on me especially something with two or more mics and cameras, gps, a data connection, that can't actually be turned off and carry it everyday everywhere I go including the bathroom.

Sent from my phone.

Remote voice assistants only work when you're holding the voice command button down. Otherwise they'd burn through their batteries within days if not hours.

Voice assistant works when the microphone button is held down. You’re thinking of Amazon Echo and similar Google Home devices which use the same assistant but use passive listening.

The Google Assistant is built in the Android TV OS and you cannot deactivated, however, if you don't want to use it just don't press and hold the assistant button.
