Can i expect better picture and sound quality from GCWGTV then Roku Ultra?

by unseenmover

I have a refurb 2018 Ultra thats lost some of its functions and am thinking of replacing it with a 2020 Ultra or a GCWGTV. If i choose the GCWGTV will it provide better picture and sound quality then the Ultra? Either will be hardwired to a up with Hisense H55 Android TV on a network with 200mbps.

Thanks everyone..

I don't really see any difference between the them but I don't have your A/V setup so ymmv

I went from a CCWGTV to a Roku Uktra in the past month.

If there is any difference in picture quality it’s minute.

I have a Hisense H9F, and for me, the apps on the CCWGTV just don’t work as well as the Roku Ultra.

The 4K and 5.1 wasn’t working on Hulu. The 5.1 wasn’t working on HBOMax.

Whereas everything is working on Roku ultra.

The CCWGTV might have a prettier interface, and the apps might be updated to work better, but, the Roku Ultra is just working better for me as of now.

I have both and sometimes the have to go back to my Roku because some apps are still having issues with the GCWGTV. For example, the NBC sports app doesn't play games live, I haven to cast it from my phone yet still has playback issues occasionally. Roku plays fine.

Thanks. I think ill go the roku route since its something i already know.

Yeah, Roku is a much more mature platform so app support is more consistent than a brand new device like CCwGTV.

returned the CCwTV and replaced it with a 2020 ultra. Although i think my functionality problem was due to a extension cord and the sequence of connecting the TV ultra and power cables the 2020 ultra works great. Im getting a steady dolby vision display upscale.
