I have TCL and Sony TVs and I would like to know what is the easiest way to stream from an iPad/iPhone?
Whether it be casting a video or mirroring the whole screen, what is the best way to get the Android TVs to appear on the list when I choose to Airplay?
This is mainly for non-mainstream apps as of course, Chromecast works fine for all of these.
I use AirScreen App and it works totally fine for me. Though am not sure if it works on all android TVs or not as OnePlus team claims that they partnered with AirScreen for the AirPlay feature on OnePlus TVs. You can give it a try though.
I've used Airscreen in the past. It works well enough in a pinch. I wouldn't say it's as reliable as native Airplay to an Apple TV.

/u/likeomgitznich is right though. If you are a heavy Airplay user, then an Apple TV is worth it.

Many apps on iOS devices will allow you to either Airplay or Chromecast your video/audio. If Chromecasting is an option, I would go with that since it is natively supported in Android TV.
Another option is to just use the native apps on the TV. For example, if you want to watch something on HBO Max, there is no reason you should be Airplaying or Chromecasting it from your phone. You should just use the HBO Max app on the TV.
The easiest way is to get an Apple TV. The AirPlay apps are super unreliable in my experience.

Get an lg tv or an Apple TV.
Download AirReceiver on your Android TV then use AirPlay from your iOS device to connect to it or download WebVideoCaster for the iPhone and use that to cast 🙂 both solutions work well enough for me but if anyone else has any better suggestions feel free to add them here for the OP 👍
