Google home integration

by trlef19

I believe that google would integrate google home into Android TVs. Managing your smart home from your tv seems useful. TVs are probably the center of your home. Lg has done something like that with their TVs and seems interesting. What do you think?

Completely agree I think that this is a must! If you could have google home on the device to set up routines and devices you would not need a different android device, you could then control the routines and devices with your voice like you already can but with google home you can make shortcuts for routines on the Home Screen this feature would be great on android tv as I could set up shortcuts to routines like open Netflix’s and dim lights by pressing a shortcut or even mapping that shortcut to a button using button mapper or lights on and off silently from a button press during a movie without disturbing someone else by yelling commands

You can already use voice command for everything, the remote is a little clumsy for that.

I'd just be happy if they could do picture in picture for nest camera notifications like the doorbell

My life peaked when I asked my TV to turn on my kettle

Yes! I bought a cheap gosund smart switch I planned on using to turn on and off my bias lights.

As far as I can tell there’s no way to do it from the tv. I’d love to be able to hit the remote button and tell it to turn off the bias lights.

Mine does? With voice. Why would you wanna turn off your lights by using your remote control? Would take way too long.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your issue. I can easily control my smart devices (lights, Nest minis, Nest speakers, other TVs, switches) using my AndroidTV television. Just hold down the mic button on the remote. Of course, you have to register everything with the Google Home app first, assuming Google supports them.
