How to use Firefox tv with android tv remote?

by Silver-Order-8

I recently sideloaded the Firefox tv to my android tv but not able to use my android tv remote to control and move around in Firefox at all. Is it possible to make the android tv remote like a mouse, just like in puffin tv?

I use Firefox TV on Mi Box S and it's worked perfectly with the remote control.

Sorry for this useless comment.

The app was designed for the Amazon Fire Stick remote control, and I'm not even sure Mozilla is maintaining it.. :/

You can also try to use TV Bro . May be it will perform better on your box.

I just used FireFox TV on my 2015 Shield TV and used both the keyboard and virtual touch pad with the Nvidia Shield Android app to navigate. Worked without any issues...and this was just yesterday.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to pin a website to the home page as when you navigate to a site you don't see a menu bar.

I did find a work around for this.

On the Shield TV --> Settings --> Remotes and Accessories --> Customize Menu Button --> Hold--> Change choice to "Send "Menu" command to app.

Of course you could change short press or double press if you wanted, too....or even revert back after pinning your sites.

i use Firefox TV on nvidia shield... works fine but i think you can't use the remote as a mouse... However, there are apps like Shield TV or Sure to solve the problem

If you can suit yourself with the (so called...) turbo mode... which is not exactly ublock origin+script safe...>_>

try sideloading the mobile version instead
