Plugged the webcam to my new Nokia Streaming Box 8000 running Android TV 10, Google Duo works fine - can call people through my TV while sitting on a couch with just the remote, it's super nice, we can see and hear each other, the audio is fine, the video is almost OK...
Except... my video feed gets flipped horizontally (mirrored left-to-right) for others. I personally see myself not flipped on screen (the opposite to what happens when connecting from a laptop: others see me normally, I see myself flipped then).
Cannot find any settings neither in Duo nor the system settings to disable this flipping.
FWIW, the Camera app (com.android.camera2, built-in, shows up in Apps when the webcam gets plugged in) also seems to mirror the image, so it might not be a Duo problem, but an Android TV 10 or Nokia SB8000 problem...
The same webcam plugged to my other Android TV device (a Nebula Capsule II) running Android TV 9 works fine, no weird flipping in Duo. Though a 200 lumen pocket projector + webcam is just not the right setup for video calling, especially wrt lighting...
Any ideas how to fix this? I want my left side to be my left side and my right side to be my right side during calls... :)
Update: the Camera app shows mirrored image when taking the picture, but the saved picture is not mirrored, so this seems actually fine.
Thus, the problem seems limited to Duo.
