MiBox 3.Android 9

by NicolasPlayzYT

Ever since my MiBox 3 updated to android 9. There have been a series of problems with temporary fixes.

There is no ethernet all of the sudden. Just unplug the ethernet adapter and plug back in.

No audio after sleep. Reboot

Video playback stuck it endlessly loading after sleep. Reboot

Remote not responding or frozen at random times. Reboot.

I was wondering is there a permanent fix/update. Because after time these problems are really annoying and I don't want to keep doing these temporary.

Edit: Some relief as we wait for another update to fix this stinkn problem.

Have the same on mine as well.. biggest pain is freezing video after waking up from sleep. Reboot works though just highly annoying...

Hey! The latest update they rolled out a couple of days ago seems to have fixed the issues I had with no sound after sleep and broken internet. All had to be solved by rebooting the device prior to this update.

I was in this boat, just downgrade the box back to Oreo and you'll be back in business. I couldn't be happier after downgrading back, now it even stays exposed to Google Home while in sleep mode consistently, it's awesome. You can follow my instructions here, another person already reported that it worked for them:

Resetting to factory settings usually fixes the issues, the Android 8 to 9 update have always had its little issues.

Yes, they've made a complete mess with the last couple of updates. I've turned off sleep completely until it's fixed. They don't draw much power.
