Where is the APK?
Backwards evolution, it looks more like the Amazon Fire TV home screen, and that's bad imo.
I've tried everything on the planet since this morning to try to push it. Seems it's a stealth update. Downloading the latest version of the launcher seems to have no effect. Same thing with uninstalling updates and reinstalling.
Looks good. Just a bit of clean up and modernizing.
It's Funai, the OEM for some Philips TVs in the US.
The new one is the one they use on the Chromecast plus Android TV device.
I own a Google chromecast, the sabrina one, since Xmas, at Spain, so outside the US and my homepage looks more to the new one than to the old one since the 1st day in december. So I dont see so many changes.....
How is this going to work for me, other than YouTube I don't subscribe to any service and use Emby for all my media
Hope this roles out to the UK soon as the side loaded Chromecast TV launcher is just buggy as hell, but so pretty and useful.
I see they added a wifi icon in the top right that’s very handy because my wifi acts strange on Sony tv
How to get that view on Android tv? Is it even possible? https://i.imgur.com/hE94fbG.jpg
how do I get this now I'm in India it'll be months before this is officially rolled out
It's a live service update. So the change will take effect when Google releases it in your region. I would like to know who already has what your experience is.
It's smoother than previous versions of the laucher. I wonder when it will appear in CZE on my Sony X900F
I'm cautiously optimistic Nvidia won't do that to us.
If so I'll finally switch to Apple TV when my 2015 shield tv goes to electronics heaven.
Is there anyway to get if now
Don't download it, this update is trash. Google is consistently pushing more and more shit onto your screen that are basically ads that nobody wants. The Discover tab is stupid imo. I don't use my tv to discover anything, I use google for that. When I turn on my Android TV I either 1, want to watch actual tv via YT Netflix etc. 2, want to play a arcade game which is very rare as all of the apps available on it are trash and the specs of most android tvs can barely operate the system smoothly let alone any games. Or 3, turn on the police scanner app I sideloaded open google photos/drive to view something which I had to sideload aswell btw.
Garbage, just like LauncherX on the CGTV.
Hopefully Nvidia has the good sense to not incorporate this or gives the option to turn this off as they have in the past with other ad-ridden Google nonsense.
If Nvidia push that into our Shields then I'll immediately will install Wolf Launcher instead. That new launcher is looks nice but it's intrusive af.
Still no way to disable "staff picks"☹️💩 I simply refuse to accept my TV booting into something that runs ads on over 1/3 of the screen.
The current Android TV interface is pretty dated looking so I'm sort of looking forward to this new one. I mean I don't spend a lot of time on the home screen anyway as I actually use my Shield to watch things so really, it's not much of a big deal.
