I had this issue for weeks. I think it was related to something with xfinity. If I used my phone as a internet Hotspot, it worked. Eventually it started working. Not sure what fixed it.
I had this problem on my mibox. As simple and basic as it sounds, physically disconnecting the HDMI cable from the box and power cycling the box fixed the issue. I understand it's a different device but physically disconnecting and reconnecting things sometimes works. At least it did for me. Good luck!
I imported one into a region Google TV doesn't officially support, and it still works for me, so that's not the issue.
Works great for me.
Uninstall it, uninstall on your phone, check Amazon.com for every device you're logged into and remove those
Run updates, make sure the "country" is set correctly anywhere
Then make sure no vpn or firewall apps or messed up router
Where are you located and who is your ISP? I had this happen to both mine and turned out it was an issue with my ISP (Shaw). It's fixed now thanks to another redditer.
My issue was the blokada as well. You either have to whitelist Amazon Prime to the Blokada or just Chromecast from your phone.
I had a similar problem when I setup my system the other day, except I didn't even get a problem occurred notification, just a blank screen. I resolved it by uninstalling the preinstalled version and installing it again from the store. Choosing reinstall didn't work it had to be from the store.
Update: not sure what the issue was other than it was my Cox internet router. Bought a new TP-Link router and it works fine now.
I’ve tried reinstalling it multiple times, I’ve formatting the chrome cast multiple time, and I updated the software yesterday, and this is still happening when I try to play a video on the Amazon prime app. Sometimes it works if i cast from my phone, but often that doesn’t work either. Every other app works fine. I have looked for answers online but haven’t found anything useful
Edit: I FIXED IT! Solution here:
Did you deregister the app before you uninstalled it?
If not, do so either from another device Prime Video already works on (via your phone in the Registered Devices menu in Settings) or via your Amazon account online & then start over.
My problem was Blockada. When I turned it off and reopened Prime, I got a prompt with a code to register the TV on another device (I used my PC). It's back to normal now. Interestingly, I didn't have this problem before yesterday's CCWGTV update.
