google tv won’t return search results for apps.

I’ve been trying to search for certain apps that are on the google play store, that won’t appear in the results. So if I search for downloader, nothing appears, yet it’s the first app when I open the tools category. I was trying to find ipvanish which wouldn’t show either. Do I have to configure something in the settings? Even simple searches like “VPN” will only return YouTube results. The hanks

I don't know, sounds to me like you are not using search in play store, but google assistant search. Google assistant search often only gives results from YouTube. If I press search icon in play store, enter app name, it always finds the correct app if it exists.

For me when I use the search assistant for a show like Flight Attendant which is on Crave which i have installed and signed in, it shows me flight attendant that I can pay for from Google TV. If the show isn't available on Google it will go straight to it on the appropriate streaming app. What a friggin scam
