YouTube app capping quality?

Hello, i have noticed that my YouTube app does not have any settings for HD, only 720p or lower. Since i have an UHD tv it's kinda annoying. Is there a quality cap or is it just my app that is malfunctioning? Is there an alternative to the official YouTube app?

Yes, Google limited the quality to 720p due to the "pandemic" in select regions, some already recovered the full quality options while others are still limited.
