When I ran HBO Max through a 4k/1080p splitter (4k on one output, 1080p on the other) the 1080p side looked like this. The 4k side was fine. I believe (though I'm not certain) this happens when HBO tries to send Dolby Vision to a device that cannot process Vision. My solution that let us watch our movie that night was to go into video settings and force my Shield to output 1080p at a specific framerate. This convinced HBO Max to output a lower resolution stream that didn't contain Dolby Vision. (Again, I'm speculating this is why it worked.) So maybe try playing with your resolution settings in your streaming device.

Definitely something going on. Are you seeing this behavior on the home screens or in other apps? Is it just people or is it on other objects that would normally have the color of Caucasian skin?

You must contact HBO to report the problem, that's clearly an issue with the app NOT the TV.
I've seen a similar issue with the Hulu app after re-waking after a power saving (or screen saver?) has taken control. The hulu app adds an extra twist by inverting the image as well.
This is on 3 different Nvidia shields with different connections to the TVs. They will all do it, maybe once a month or less in Hulu. Never seen this on HBO, but I just started watching HBO again.

Looks like red is blue, green is red, and so that means blue is green. Why on earth is everything bitshifted
