Sounds like a great idea. The code already exists so the team wouldn't be starting from scratch.

Thats a great effing idea. Which is why we will never see it. Even if they made it so you had to be bluetooth connected that would still be great. Or even if a google home device had to be BT connected.
Also we need a solution like this on Android TV too.

I want to be able to add my tv to a audio group so I can play music in two rooms at once
It is nice to have it in the Google Home app as it seems logical whenever we connect to an Android TV device to perform many things other than start/stop current cast, increment/decrement volume, or on/off the device.
