TCL C815 Sound Output

My sound outputs both through the optical digital out to my receiver and through the built in speakers.

Is there a way for the sound to just output through the SPDIF connection (set to PCM) and not the built in speakers?

At the moment I have the TV volume set to 0 and control the volume through the receiver controls. I would like to just control the volume through the TV controls. but not have sound coming out the TV speakers.

Following this thread since I'm in the same situation, I'm afraid there's no solution tho

This was one of the reasons why I returned the TCL C715. Simply, in the design of this TV, the digital optical output feature was made available without proper testing of its functionality.

Did you try to put 3.5 mm earphone jack to the tv earphones connection? This should cut off build in speaker.
