FYI - Kodi was broken on Sony after update to v19 Matrix (Inputstream.Adaptive add-on)

by Iggy82

After upgrading to Kodi 19.0 Matrix, I had no sound and my video's would crash about 5 - 10 seconds in, or they would stutter badly.

I found that Inputstream.Adaptive in my add-ons was not enabled. I enabled it, and it's all working fine again now.

My TV is a Sony KD-55XE9005 in the U.K.

I'm not sure if this will affect everyone, but I thought I would post it, in case anyone else has the same problem. I've also posted this on XDA forums

Yeah, the migration from Python 2.7 to Python 3 pretty much broke majority of my add-ons, which were installed from official repo. What a hassle to revert everything back. I understand this migration is necessary because Python already dropped support for 2.x for some time. But they could just leave Kodi v18 there as a legacy app and make v19 a brand new app. Instead, it's now getting review bombed on the play store.

I got a prompt to enable that addon on the Shield.

This update is so annoying. All the standard subtitle add ons are broken as well.

RobotToaster44

It breaks the iplayer addon as well.
