FAT32 external hdd not recognized in ccwgtv

by yomamen

I have 3 wd my passport external hdd formatted to fat32 with no luck getting recognized by ccwgtv. As soon as i plug it, it says “safely ejected” in the menu storage area.

The weird thing is, i got a samsung evo ssd attached to sata adapter case, i formatted it to fat32 and it works just fine in ccwgtv, there is an option to format it as internal storage and everything in the menu.

Does the issue have something to do with the hdd being wd ? I cant get my head around it. Anyone with the same issue or knows the workaround ?

What usb hub are you using to plug the hdd into while powering the CCWGTV? I'm wondering if your wd passport is drawing more juice than the hub can support along with powering the Chromecast? Can you make sure you don't have any other devices plugged in?

Get a router with a USB port or a fucking pi3 and you won't have a hdd dangling from the back of your TV. And you won't have to move it around ever and risk breaking it.
