TCL 4K Android TV out of sync with LG Soundbar via optical cable

by Tarp1854

I've searched everywhere and watched a million tutorials that all lead me to a setting that doesn't seem to exist in this operating system. I have an LG Soundbar using an optical cable directly into my TV, but the sound is behind by about .5 seconds and it's driving me crazy. There doesn't appear to be any specific setting for sound and I can't get it to work. Does anyone have any quick fixes? If not, can you make a recommendation on what I can buy to get it to work? This particular Soundbar does not have an HDMI connection, it has optical and bluetooth, but the Bluetooth is also delayed.

No expert but there should be an AV sync adjustment, just googled and found this...

Push the Home button on your remote. Select the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner. Select Sound > AV Sync Adjustment. Turn On AV Sync Adjustment, then use the left-right slider to delay or speed up the audio to match the video better.

Of course you have likley checked this but may help if you include the spicific sound bar. Seems like this should be an option somewhere. gl bro.

Are you able to get the sound through the sound bar only? I have to mute the TV and use the sound bar remote with the optical.

No issues if I use the Bluetooth but the delay is more noticeable

If you watch your media through the program Kodi, there is an audio offset setting that you can retard or advance the audio sync. Wont help with OTA or cable signals, but any digital media can be manipulated. Kodi is a free program available to run on many platforms.

I returned a TCL C715 exactly because of this problem.
