Currently it's 6 to 7 clicks on the remote. The app needs a long press option.

Good call, a long press would be a great idea!
If you have a Logitech Harmony remote you can setup a sequence to do this.
I've done this with my Harmony, it works about 95% of the time, but sometimes the number of presses to get to the Like button changes based on CC/Save to Playlist functionality being enabled for the video.
(I use 'Likes' as an alternative 'Watch Later' list - less movement required, and adding to the official Watch Later playlist wasn't possible on earlier versions of Youtube for TV app).
