NooB needing help compiling Android TV 10

by DarthTaibi

Hi all, I have a Firefly ROC-RK3399-PC (also called "Renegade Elite") dev board that I desperately want to turn into an Android TV 10 box. Firefly has a great how to on how to compile the stock Android 10: Compile Android 10 , but not how to compile Android TV 10! Does Android TV require a special build option? A different repo source? Is it just a series of apps that have to be installed on top of the stock Android?

After googling my guts out for months I still have no clue.

I will be eternally grateful if anyone can explain how to compile Android TV 10 from source!

Thanks in advance! -Dan

You cannot. The interesting parts of Android TV are not open source.

There is a custom AndroidTV 10 for the ROC-RK3399-PC-PLUS.

The ROC-RK3399-PC-PLUS & ROC-RK3399-PC is not that much different.

They just have to release Android 10 for the ROC-RK3399-PC too since it only has an Android 7 SDK, the ROC-RK3399-PC-PLUS Android 10 SDK doesn't have kernel drivers for the ROC-RK3399-PC but it could be easily developed by Firefly if there is enough interest I think.

The Android 10 SDK already has build options for AndroidTV but Rockchip disabled it since there were a few bugs, but maybe it's updated now. But you will have to use your own AndroidTV OpenGAPPS package since only OEM's can get the original packages from Google.
