I have been using firesticks for years and recently bought a shield for downstairs. Looking for a new device to replace the second gen fire stick in my bedroom but don't want to fork out another £150 on a shield when the TV isnt 4k. Is there any other devices that are as easy to customise as the shield as I hate the effort it takes to make a fire stick nice. I'll only be using as a streaming stick.
Chromecast with Google TV would be my recommendation.

I would recommend a Chromecast with Google TV or Tivo Stream 4K. I have both and also an Nvidia Shield.

TiVo for the expansion port
The CGTV & Mi Box models are somewhat neutered compared to the Shield Pro IME.
You not going to have all the features & capabilities with a lesser device, and all those other devices are running 32-bit OSs, not 64 like the Shield Pro, so no 64-bit apps either, including the Shield Tube.
