Need suggestion for an android tV ($400 budget)

by nyamuk91

Hi. What's the best Android TV that I can get with the following spec:

  • Full HD (or above)
  • 32 - 43 inches
  • LED (preferably IPS)
  • Budget: $400 or below

What I'm using it for:

  • PS4/PS5
  • Streaming (Netflix, Youtube, etc)

Currently, I'm looking at Mi TV 4S 43 inches. But it's not an IPS panel and I couldn't find any display unit since it is not sold locally. So I'm looking for a better alternative (or maybe Mi TV 4S is good enough?)

Honestly, just buy a Chromecast with Google TV and use it on a normal TV imo. There will be more TVs with Google TV built-in here soon but considering how often people upgrade their TV vs the cheap dongle it makes more sense to just get the best TV you can get instead of worrying about the software. I honestly wish you could get a really good "dumb" TV that only had HDMI CEC and nothing else.

Ignore the Android TV part to give you a broader range of models to look for, and stick a Chromecast with Google TV on it.

Get a TV with the best display that you can afford and then add a Chromecast with Google TV.

I got a 32 inch Xiaomi mi TV on banggood for €209, they come in bigger sizes too. It's pretty much a TV with s Mibox built in. Delighted with it, it's perfect for my son's bedroom

32" Full HD TVs are practically non existent (most are just HD ready) so you're stuck with 43". I'm not sure if Android TV is a must for you, but I got LG UN7300 with webOS last year for $400 and I'm happy with it.

Feature wise it's not next gen but for netflix youtube and games it's pretty good. Magic remote is a nice bonus.

Buy a tcl tv with android. It works fairly well. I’ve had one for a couple months. No complaints from my kids.

I have an extra 40 inch tv laying around, it's decent you can check out the model it's UW40T2BW

No smart features so you'd need a chromecast, and no stand but it has everything needed to wall mount. Would let it go for cheap PM me if you're interested

TCL. I think that’s good enough.

TCL. I think that’s good enough.

TCL. I think that’s good enough. It does 4K at 60fps from what I remember.

IPS TVs are plain bad. From your size range I guess you're going to use it as a monitor. I'd say just buy a good ultra wide monitor and hook a Chromecast to it. Because nothing in this price range can offer a better value proposition compared to monitors.
