Play Movies & TV app will disappear from Roku and other smart TVs soon

Question

Do you think Android TV will also be affected by this decision in a not so distant future?

It is already gone from Google TV and replaced with access to Play Store video purchases directly through the interface and on YouTube.

Google Movies and TV is already the worst movie app of them all and they have seemingly, long go, decided to let it fester. It will eventually be chhanged to Google TV and incorporated into the UI.

I suspect it will vary by each device brand at when/if they update to Google TV. Nvidia is probably the least likely to do it, but they eventually may not have a choice.
