TCL 50P715K ‘no connection’ via Ethernet.

by Lyceumhq

I have the above tv in my bedroom. It’s ten feet away from the router so it’s been connected via Ethernet since I got it.

Got an update yesterday and now just getting a no internet error. Have disconnected and reconnected. Rebooted the router (virgin media hub 2) and TV. Would like to avoid resetting the TV if possible. Only because it took me weeks to sort the channel list (connected old sky cable so no epg etc).

Any ideas how I can fix it?

Unfortunately I had to reset mine when that happened. I'm walking in to the store to buy a Chromecast as we speak

Make sure the date and time are accurate. It was an issue I had with my Shield. Whenever I unplug the device, it resets to a random time. Once it does so, it can't connect (safely?) anymore, won't update the time and, of course, stay stuck with no internet access.

In some cases, VPN connection can make your ethernet disconnect. Then you'll have to use 'split tunneling' function or similar one from VPN providers.
