Google TV chromecast stuttering 4K videos via OTG

I have tried to play various 4K videos (from 8 to 30GB) via an usb-c hub on my recently bought Google TV chromecast and they are almost unplayable in varios media players. I tried VLC, native player, ES File Explorer.

I have used a 120GB usb 3.0 and a 1TB HDD, both formatted to NTFS and opening them via ES File Explorer. They both work well in my Sony Bravia smart tv, but not with the Google TV Chromecast.

Any idea to play the files? Is the chromecast not powerfull enough?

More knowledgeable people can answer, but when I had the new Chromecast the 4K content I streamed stuttered

Got a Shield and never had that issue once

By any chance are your files H265 HDR? If so the google tv chromecast struggles to play those types of files.
