Turning off Ambient Mode in GoogleTV?

by RLJSlick

New to GoogleTV. Any way to turn ambient mode off? It keeps coming on when I'm streaming on one of the streaming apps. I saw a few references about disabling or replacing ambient mode, any help would be appreciated...

Install some screensaver app, such as "LCD talking night clock", and use it to reach the screensaver settings (ambient is a screensaver, Google just "forgot" to let us choose one directly from normal settings). You can't disable it from there, but increasing the timeout to max value (2h) should do.

You can disable ambient mode on the CCwGTV.

If you activate Developer Mode, you can set the option to Stay Awake.

To activate Developer mode, go to: Settings (Go to your user circle top right), System, About, Android TV OS Build and keep clicking until it says Developer Mode enabled.

Then the option should be available under Settings -> System -> Developer options -> Stay awake.

You can still activate ambient mode from the home screen by pressing the back button.
