Philips Smart TV not allowing to open app not installed from playstore

Hi guys, need assistance here.

My MIL just purchased a Philips Smart TV 6900 43", and here trying to install some apps from play store, but they're not found there.

So I loaded up some apk via usb drive and managed to install to the tv, however when I try to open it, it just automatically closes with an error :

^Restricted ^: ^Not ^downloaded ^from ^Play ^Store.

Any advise on how I can override this so that the apps can be installed. im trying to install my country paid tv service application Astro Go

Additionally worth trying turning off the "verify apps" setting in the same screen as unknown sources.

Have you allowed "unknown sources"?

Did you check Developer Options if there was an option to block/enable such apps?

Stupid question maybe, but is it really running Android TV ?

is there anywhere at all in the settings or anything that says USB debugging or wireless debugging?
