In my opinion the mobile app is really limited and would be nice if you could do more with it such as list out installed apps in order to launch them, etc.

My Google password is 63 characters long. With Android TV I can just paste it into the TV from my password manager rather than having to type it out.
The shield app can do this, but it's also not great

List out installed apps? You mean like going over to the red circle that has 9 white squares in it and when you click on it it shows all of the installed apps?
It hasn't even connected to my Chromecast for months. Even after a full reinstallation from the Play Store. Ended up just uninstalling it

You mean adding apps to the favorite bar and being able to rearrange them in the order you like doesn't accomplish that? Baffled at the post. Seems basic to me. It even shows you the little plus icon to add to it.
And then, the apps icon takes you to all the apps where a simple long press on the app allows you to move it. Can even add it to favorites from there too.
Did you even bother to play around with the home screen? Not like this is a RTFM moment.
