Blue Light filter on Smart TV

by Cocoa-Cornflower

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there's such a thing as a built-in blue light filter on these TV'S. I read somewhere you can just tweak the b-gain in the two-point white balance settings. Does that really work? Can I make it so it works (or looks) the same as the blue light filter on my phone?

I tried that Twilight app and my tv warned me the app would get my passwords, and it made me uninstall it immediately. Maybe I overreacted?

I use Twilight. It's great, don't worry it's safe.

That warning appears for anything that can appear over other apps. That is how third party filter apps must work, by putting a semi transparent layer over your other apps.

Twilight is a safe app. Used it on my phone until a few months ago.

My Samsung TV has a "warm color mode". Its like a blue filter. Search on your tv settings. I think the most tvs has options to reduce the blue color like a blue filter.

Although technically the app does have the ability to read the screen, it only needs this permission to do a full screen overlay.. It's a pretty common app. I wouldn't worry about it. In 2021 you should be using two-factor for all important accounts anyways

You don't need bluelight filter on TV.The pictures won't look good with that. Also heard blue light from displays won't damage your eyes(Not sure).
