HBO Max debuts ad-supported $9.99/month tier, no theatrical releases, downloads, or 4K

Basically, for 9.99 you don't get what makes the app worth getting.

Got it.

seventysamurai

That is a pretty crummy deal. Lose 4k and theatrical release to save $5 and have to watch commercials.

BasicAlgae5

"fighting piracy" they said lol

DOA

I get HBO MAX through my ATT internet service. I bet they downgrade it to this one.

KarensSuck91

so the perfect boomer tier.

totodee

I would rather pay to skip the commercials.

NGLIVE2

That’s way too much. I’d say 4.99 but honestly i think if there’s ads it should be free. Also, there’s like five 4K titles lol. Anyway, I love HBOMAX. If they add some hockey and NBA I’d be a happy camper.

toastthemost

no 4K

So basically 99% of the premium subscription is the same as the ad-supported? When will we get 4k content besides very few theatrical releases?

t1000i

No idea man it just asks me for card it never says Google or anything in there I checked now

YulianGulubovo

Are they insane? Whatever. Where I am HBO is even worse. Even though I have a soft spot for the Sopranos and the Wire I'm not paying that much money for commercials and no 4k atmos hdr.

Im_in_timeout

Paying for ads?!?? Fuck that.

altsuperego

My suspicion is they are about to raise the price of the ad-free tier and/or downgrade all their wireless bonus customers. Otherwise it makes no sense.

t1000i

Or get HDCinema app free and have all the movies free without any Netflix or HBO subscription & it's ads free 👍

t1000i

I made my Chromecast with Google tv on day 1 with usb hub c usb stick with ethernet connection & 60+ apps ready to watch everything available to man on it with vpn fuck HBO or Disney not ordering no $40 dollers movies every week 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
