Has anyone had success getting the new remote from the Onn Walmart Android TV to work with the Chromecast w Google TV?
I paired them and basic functions work, but I cant seem to get any of the app buttons to work, even trying with Button Mapper. The "channel" up/dwn buttons also don't seem to do anything in any app I have tried.
Cc remote is pretty awful. My problem was picking it up and having it backwards. I picked up a silicone sleeve from Amazon. It has silly little teddy bear ears on it but I no longer use it backwards.
I paired the ONN remote with my Chromecast & all the buttons work except for the Settings & TV button & the 4 app buttons. The channel +/- buttons work with YTTV. The remote is 10 times better than the Chromecast remote.
I did the exact same thing. I like the CCwGTV, but I am not a fan of the remote (I can't stand the volume rocker being on the side). Like you, I was unable to map any of the buttons that I liked on the Onn remote (Live TV and the four dedicated buttons at the bottom). When I did try to map one of the four buttons at the bottom, they all came across as the exact same. So I was unable have the four buttons map to four different applications.
