Like others noted, the picture is not centered. /r/Netflix somehow messed up the source because there is nothing wrong with the Bluray release. Also not really sure why you think this is relevant to /r/AndroidTV.
Jesus, some of the comments here are so hostile 🤣
Just checked and it's the same on mine - Very odd! Must be an issue with Netflix.
Are they making room for subtitles in the lower part of the screen? The lower black area looks like it could be used for subtitles without overlapping the image itself.
However, I don't know if either you have subtitles on or if that film has forced subtitles.
I submitted a case to Netflix about 6 months ago and just checked tonight. Still broken. Watching it on my S22 and the top is cut off because of the narrow aspect ratio of my phone. I doubt they'll fix this. 🤦♂️
9 months later, it's still like this on netflix
They get most things remastered but I guess couldn't for whatever reason with this movie.
This is the aspect ratio it comes with on the blu-ray.
Sorry, I HATE your TV.
Talk about terrible blacks. I sure know an LCD when I see it over an OLED or a plasma.
Ouch
What's bizarre is not the aspect ratio...it's the picture not being centered
