Hi. Is there a way to watch Euro 2020 in 4K on the Google Cast or Shield? I have a 2016 Sony tv with ATV which supports BBC iPlayer 4K, but the new Google cast does not. Is there a way to extract the APK, or grab the link to the stream? During the world cup two years ago someone got a link which worked with VLC.
Unfortunately, like many UK regional service providers, the BBC chose to go the brand-exclusive way. The BBC Shield app was built and is maintained by Nvidia themselves, while the Sony app is exclusive to Sony (apparently).
What's more, the BBC uses HLG HDR for their UHD streams, which Shield doesn't support, so their app will max out @ 1080p for the time being.

Have been trying for a while without any success unfortunately. I'm based in the Netherlands, so I didn't even get the pre-installed iplayer on my shield tv. What I did so far:
But the euro 2020 stream seems to settle at either 720p or 1080p.
