I just bought the Xiaomi mi 4k to replace my tv, and I was surprised the built-in android TV doesn't work with Netflix (impossible to install it from Google Play).
I was looking for solutions, and found an old post somewhere that suggested maybe an older Netflix APK could work.
I installed one of my most-often used Android apps, the
X-plore file manager
and installed the obsolete Netflix APK. It didn't work. And then I couldn't even uninstall it in a normal way, because it wasn't shown on the list of apps.
But it turns out X-plore's App manager feature (which you need to first enable for any of the two panels) was not only able to find my unsuccessful installation of the old Netflix app, but also found an existing built-in Netflix app in the System group.
Netflix was actually there, not just disabled, but also hidden (which is probably the reason why I couldn't see my installed version in the app list before).
X-plore let me enable the built-in Netflix app and hey presto! It works! :-D
Wow thanks for sharing the info. I don't own one but that's useful.
