Anyone having freezing issues with the new walmart onn android tv box? It happens a lot since I got it a week ago and it's been great besides the constant freezing. I have to unplug the system and plug it back in to power for it to work again.

That's what mine did and that's why I ended up returning it.

Sometimes things make more sense when you say them to yourself out loud.
I'd return it while you can. It's totally fair to expect a product to work as promised, even a just released product.
I have the same issues. It isn't a fix but I have mine connected to a smart plug so I can wirelessly turn it off.
Chrome cast with google tv is worth the extra $
Same. Once it works it works well. Just need them to fix these freezing issues.
I have the same issue. Freezes and needs to be unplugged at least twice a day.
i bought mine on Aug 5th and have the same issue. It seems to run fine for about an hour or two so i thought i could be a heat issue. Called the 800 number on the box and after off line consultation rep said it sound like software. He said exchange it since i was in the 30 day window. I ordered a new one online for store pickup since store said i would have to return the first one and not exchange it at the electronics counter
I have since tried a different AC out and at first i thought that cured it but it started happening again last night. A little use so far today and it's fine. I also repaired the remote today to see if that helps since i noticed that the remote flashes red when it's frozen. I also checked for update and msg came back that it's up to date.
Anyone else have an issue with one purchased later than Aug 5th on the box UHD ($30)

Which one are you using? The $30 one or the $25 one? I haven't been having any issues with the $30 UHD one.
Tivo 4K also had a firmeare update at least once
I just returned mine after almost a month of random freezing and needing to unplug it behind the TV. Hopefully they fix it with an update eventually.
Problem fix update it
Mine essentially does not freeze while in use. It mostly seems that the remote becomes unresponsive, either while it is "asleep" or shut down or, on occasion, during playback. Doing a restore didn't seem to help for long. It did an update for both the unit AND the remote after the restore, but the issue came back before long.
I have to reboot mine almost daily...
