Apple tV Freezes

Just got the new Hisense u8g which runs android tv. Everything has been excellent so far except apple tv.

The show/movie will start, but then the picture will freeze. When i look at the seek bar I can still see the time moving but the picture is frozen. I went and tested the same app and show on my chromecast with google tv on another television and it works fine. That TV doesn't do dolby vision so maybe that's at play here.

internet connection is strong, 300 mbps. This is a fresh install of the app and the tv is brand new 3 days ago. Every other video/app has worked great so far. Any ideas what's going on?

I think it's the Apple TV app to blame... I observed the same stuttering and super low audio output issue on couple of other Android TVs too. Hoping the next app update would be more stable.

As usual, you only have the three options at the moment.

  1. Review and contact the developers. Wait for an update.

  2. Purchase another streaming device such as Google's new Chromecast or prime stick.

  3. Or go to certain certain website and download your content from there, play using Plex or a USB drive.

It may not become application. Televisions sets running Android are OT the most powerful device to use. It other streaming devices are not freezing than that is the answer

I just got a Hisense U7G. Everything works great, but yeah, the Apple TV+ app does this here too. Totally sucks.

This happened on my 2019 shield tv after changing the shield tv output resolution to 4k. Switching back to 1080p fixed the issue. Hope apple fixes it.

I have a hisense android smart TV and Apple + worked for 1 day … now I enter the app and it freezes on tv shows screen and can not navigate the menus

I forgot to mention all other apps work fine … I was watching the morning show and first I got lines on the screen and just sound then the screen went blank. Now when I access Apple + I just get the screen with tv shows and it is totally frozen

Hey, Mi Box S user here.

Same issue for this Android box, but if you turn off Maximum quality in the Apple TV app settings, it will be fine, of course this means the resolution will drop, but bearable, and at least you can watch your favourite show.
