Chromecast with Google tv, IR remote issues.

Question

On initial setup the remote paired and had the function to control my Samsung tv through HDMI-CEC. Had a couple issues with tv resetting the CEC options so decided to forget and repair the remote and setup under the IR option.

I pick my brand of tv (Samsung), select setup volume control, get to the screen that advises "next you'll hear music" hit next but then get an error. No error code is given just "something went wrong" and can either try again or cancel.

Any ideas?

Restart your ccwgtv and give it another go. Had that happen to me and restarting the chromecast git rid of the error.

Try setting it up as another tv device or use ir instead of cec. Then go back and change it later.

Factory reset it, try again. And don't plug it in to HDMI-ARC if you are using CEC.

This is happening to me as well. No recommendation has fixed my issue. Very annoying
