Google TV “live” page missing?

I haven’t used a chromecast with google TV since I set one up for my parents after the launch. Back then there used to be a dedicated “live” section on the home screen that made watching YouTube TV amazing. After buying one for myself, I can see that this awesome page is now gone. Is this something they just up and removed during an update? Is there anyway to bring it back? I can’t believe google would just up and remove something that was super easy to use, my older parents preferred it to the decidedly bad YouTube tv user interface.

It's still there. I believe it only shows up if you have your YouTube TV account linked, or you're signed into the same account that has YouTube TV active on it.

That page only appears if you have YouTube TV or Sling on the same Google account

chromecast is all messed up when it comes to live TV as far as I can tell.

I don't use YouTube TV, but I have an hdhomerun. Searching for the hdhomerun app on the store doesn't work for some reason. Also, on my shield tv, I can just use the Live Channels app and add the hdhomerun through there.

on the CC, I'm pretty sure I was able to download the live channels app, but it doesn't appear in my app list for whatever reason. I was able to get into it by using voice at one point, but then when I go to add channels, it doesn't detect the hdhomerun on my network.

it's almost like Google tried really hard to make sure none of this stuff works.
