When can I buy this in CANADA?!?! The Walmart ONN. $30 Android TV UHD Streaming-Device

by frogstar42

Does anyone have any idea why I can't get the awesome Walmart version of Android TV that is similar to the $69 Google TV ?? Ebay pirates are selling it for $70 despite it being $30 at Walmart US. I live 6 km from a US Walmart but I can't border cross and nobody seems to mention anything about when Walmart Canada will get it - which I find odd.

Recently ordered 6 using mymallbox.com , they consolidated 3 shipments of 2 box's each into 1 package, USPS ship cost was $43.60 USD or $55.40 CDN at the time. Total was $45 CDN for each box after everything, would be closer to $47 now since the dollar went down a bit. Took 14 days from the time I got a tracking number to arrival.

You can't and you likely never will be able to, directly. I want a couple, too, maybe we should arrange some sort of group buy here, get someone who lives in the US to buy like 10 and sell them to Canadians here for a modest markup.

What is the appeal of this over the new Chromecast?

Ask a friend to take a drive to the states and buy one.
Or use a shipping service.

I asked a guy at my local Walmart in the tech department. He basically gave me a long-winded "I don't have a clue" response. Something like "we don't know, things just show up randomly"...

But yeah I agree with Tired8281's comment below. It would cost something to prepare a separate product for Canada, and the profit margins on this device are most likely already razor-thin.

Wait til the US/Canada border re-opens to tourist/shopping (non-essential) crossings in August, only 1 month from now, then go across and buy you one.

I just had a friend mail me one up ... I really like this ... I'm starting to like it better then then chromecast with google tv

Blame the powerhouse Bell for stopping it I bet. They squash everything that competes in any way. O

I love this device and have owned several for about 6 months. Very reliable for streaming popular apps and iptv. Note: Walmart stores appear to be phasing this device out over the past several weeks. You can tell they've been pulled off the shelves instead of sold out which seems to be Walmart's modus operandi. They sold the Mibox for about a year, then it was pulled. Same with the Jetstream box, pulled after less than a year. ONN BOXES
