Live Channels EPG Issue

I recently purchased an Nvidia Shield, primarily to use with my OTA antenna.

I’m using live channels app, I’m loving the app but am having issues with the EPG populating.

When I go into the guide, some channels are populated, most show “no information”. If select a “no information” channel, then it’s data seems to download.

Is this normal behavior? Having to select the channel in order to see its programming seems to defeat the purpose of having a guide.

For reference I’m in Canada. I haven’t been able to figure out how this EPG even works. Is it downloading from an online source or is it pulling the data ota?

'Get Channels' Channels app works way better if your tuner is compatible.

Mine populates but crashes if I click a channel. I'm on ccwgtv.

I had to get a HD homerun in order for it to populate the epg and honestly I have to rescan it every day for it to update the guide. It's a pain. Live channels while awesome in theory just isn't very good and not supported which is a bummer.

What tuner device are you using. It would be responsible for providing the guide data.
