TDLR:
Prices are the same as the Roku versions
Looks like they have indeed increased the prices (on Best Buy and on the TCL US website), so they cost more than the Roku versions.
Both 6-series and 5-series will have new remotes and built-in mics into the TV itself. The built-in mic can be disabled via the physical switch on the back of the TV.
6-series will have 4k120hz support and two HDMI 2.1 ports.
5-series will have three HDMI ports full array local dimming, Dolby Atmos, auto low latency mode (ALLM), and variable refresh rate (VRR) support.
TCL will continue to make Roku TVs alongside the new Google TVs.
I've owned a couple of the recent TCLs, the 6 series specifically. Great TVs for the money, but my advice is do not pay MSRP for them. These TVs typically go on big time sale (at places like Best Buy) about three times a year. I bet you can snag the 65" 6 series around Thanksgiving for under $1k. I got my 2019 6 series for $500 off 2 months after its release.
Sleek and beautiful TVs. Though with Google TV, would still hook CCwGTV to it.
OK these are not coming to India.
About time..
Oh no, i really wanted to get another TCL, not anymore. Every google tv ive seen so far has been slow, trashy, laggy, and creepy. I dont want to control my tv with my voice. I hope they bring back roku eventually
I can never see the point of hardwiring a android tv device into a TV.
TCL is junk.
After purchasing a brand-new Sony TV with built-in Android TV, I will always steer clear of TV with it built in. Was the worst experience I've ever had with a TV. I bought an Nvidia Shield Pro instead.
