What are my available options?

I have a 5 yr old Android Tv manufactured by Videocon (Model - Videocon DDB Smart) which is currently running Android version - 4.4.2 and Kernel Version - 3.1.10.

It is rediculously slow and I cannot install any apps. I want to know what are the options available to me.

I don't want to replace the TV, is there a way I can keep it and at the same time make it usable?

Can I update the android version, if yes, how do I do that?

Is it possible to use Android TV stick with the this in as it is situation or do I need to change anything?

Google Chromecast with Google TV is your best bet for $49.99 it is the best bet for Budget device if you can get it in India I would think you would be able to otherwise look for TiVo Stream 4K sometimes you can get them on sale for $29.99 these two devices are the best bet on a budget the Google Chromecast will get updates more so than any of the others mentioned besides the Nvidia Shield of course
